Their wine list has been carefully curated to highlight some of the amazing wines produced in Mudgee and the wider region, complemented by an array of boutique beers and other drinks. They believe in seasonal eating. If it’s not in season, you won’t find it on the menu.

Taking the highest quality ingredients, sourced as locally as possible, and allow it to speak for itself. And bonus, much of the produce used on the menu is grown at Blue Wren Farm.

Pipeclay Pumphouse has made the recent evolution to relaxed, shared-plate dining inspired by the vibrant flavours of the Mediterranean and Middle East. One of the state’s oldest wine bars, Roth’s has been serving up local drops for over 100 years.

With more than 100 wines available by the bottle to drink there or takeaway and a weekly selection of wines by the glass, it’s the perfect place to sample the wares of Mudgee’s top vineyards.

Along with some fabulous wine, you’ll also find craft beer, woodfired pizza and tapas on the menu, accompanied by live music every Friday and Saturday night.

  1. Zin House

The Zin House is a regional restaurant and food garden on the organic and biodynamic Lowe Family Wine Co property. Headed by Chef Kim Currie, the restaurant specialises in set menu long lunches within a modern farmhouse setting.

Using mostly organic produce from their extensive kitchen gardens, orchards and farmland, the food is prepared from scratch using classic techniques. What they don’t grow themselves, they source from local producers to provide an experience of true regionality. The optional wine pairing amplifies all these qualities, with a mix of estate grown wines and other producers across the surrounding wine districts.

A dining experience that allows you to truly unwind; good food and wine with those you care about, time to wander the gardens and enjoy the views, service that is warm and personable but not obtrusive, and never having a time limit on your table.

Explore our beautiful region a bit more and make the trip out to the tiny village of Rylstone, just 38 minutes’ drive from Mudgee where owner and chef Na Lan has been serving authentic Chinese yum cha and tea since 2008.

There are more than 30 types of dumplings, steamed buns and desserts to choose from, as well as frozen ones to take home. Inside, the walls are decorated with original artworks, scarves, jewellery and traditional goods from China, all available to purchase.

The restaurant is a favourite with both locals and visitors, and it’s a good idea to make a booking in advance.

Recently launched and located only a short stroll from the centre of town, Charnwood Food and Wine is a must visit when in Mudgee.

Offering a seasonal al la carte menu focused on fresh and local produce, there’s always something to impress even the most discerning palate. The extensive wine list offers an array of local wines, with a focus on the award-winning Charnwood Estate collection.

To finish off this post about all things food related, we can’t not mention Food + Farm Dining that operate on-site at Parkview. sourcing and often time growing their own produce to whip together delicious seasonal dishes. A must do while your in Mudgee and especially staying with us at Parkview, just stroll out the door and you’ve got a cup of coffee in hand and breakfast in the over. The convenience is great but the food makes it memorable. Open Thursday – Sunday 8am – 4pm
